Census

U.S. Census Bureau workers are visiting homes to interview households that have not responded to the Census. Census interviews should take approximately 10 minutes, and all Census workers have been provided with personal protective equipment and have been trained to practice physical distancing. All Census workers will also have official I.D. badges that will include their name, a photograph, a U.S. Department of Commerce watermark and expiration date. They will never ask for social security numbers, bank information, or donations or credit card information. If you suspect fraud, please call 1-800-923-8282 to speak with a local Census Bureau representative.

Responding to the Census is critical to ensuring that Surprise receives an appropriate share of the $675 billion given to states annually, and in turn, our community. The Census also helps with planning for critical infrastructure in our community and determines our congressional representation and local political boundaries. Please note, that by law, the U.S. Census Bureau is required to protect your information and is not permitted to publicly release your responses in a way that could identify you.
