Mayor Wolcott and members of City Council joined IRIS USA, Inc. and its parent company IRIS Ohyama Inc. in breaking ground for the Company’s new Western United States Regional Headquarters facility in Surprise on May, 21, 2015.
The new facility will house some 420,000-square-feet of manufacturing, distribution and office space and initially employ approximately 100 people, the bulk of whom will be recruited from the local area. The facility will be located within the city’s Southwest Railplex Industrial District and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2016.
Do you have a favorite restaurant that you would like to see open in Surprise? What about a unique shopping experience that you want added to your hometown? Tell us in our new retail survey!
We want to know how we can make our city a one-stop shopping and dining destination, and we’ll be giving away gift cards to some lucky survey-takers just for offering their thoughts!
The survey will help the city to identify retail strengths within the community, as well as opportunities to bring additional amenities closer to home. This is important because the money you spend here, stays here. In fact, local sales tax makes up nearly 40 percent of our city’s General Fund revenues which support public safety, clean parks and street maintenance.
The survey runs through June 17 and is available both online at www.surpriseaz.gov/retailsurvey and in print at the Surprise Senior Center, 15832 N. Hollyhock St.
